St. George's Ministry in Music

Music has always played an important role in worship and St. George's is no exception. Music accompanies and enriches our celebrations, keeps us in a meditative mood, and helps us pray and praise God.

O Come, let us sing unto the Lord:
let us heartily rejoice in the strength of our salvation.
— Psalm 95

Obeying the Psalmist’s injunction to praise the Lord is an important part of the life and worship at St. George's today, as it has been for more than a century and a half.

The choir of St. George's Church enjoy exploring a wide range of music, drawn from the best of Anglican and other traditions. They provide the musical leadership for the weekly 10:30 AM service, singing anthems, motets, communion settings, as well as hymns and psalms.

The choir presents the Carols by Candlelight service during Advent, and the Good Friday service in Holy Week. The choir rehearses weekly on Thursday evenings at 6:45 PM, and at 9:30 AM before the Sunday service.

The choir is pleased to welcome new members. Those who are interested in singing should contact the church office at 514-866-7113, or office@st-georges.org.

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.
Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
— Psalm 100
